About Our Green Dry Cleaning Greensleeves’ dry cleaning process is completely safe for everyone, from new born infants to people with allergies. It leaves no residue on your clothing and is completely biodegradable. We use GreenEarth® and Wet Cleaning not petroleum-based solvents. Most dry cleaners use petroleum-based solvents like Perc or hydrocarbon solvents (often called Organic) to clean your garments. These solvents are great for dry cleaners, making their job easier, but not so great for you or your clothing. Over time these strong “Organic” solvents weaken fabric fibers, leaving clothes looking faded and worn. (Much like washing your clothes with gasoline) Greensleeves’ totally green process will not damage a garment’s fabric or its dyes. Your cleaned garments are returned to you in like-new condition, feeling soft, looking vibrant and will never have a chemical smell. No residue means truly clean. People with allergies or sensitive skin no longer have to worry about irritations from "unknown" chemicals or causes. This is another environmentally safe cleaning process that utilizes computer-controlled wet cleaning machines, biodegradable soaps and conditioners and specialized finishing equipment. GreenEarth® start with sand, they start with petroleum. We clean with liquid silicone, a safe, natural byproduct of sand. Traditional dry cleaners use a petroleum-based solvent called perc.
