Dry cleaning is done with GreenEarth. Silicone based, discovered in a cosmetics plant where workers noticed the substance used in a number of skin cremes, shampoos and deodorants was getting their hands clean! Developed into a cleaning solution, GreenEarth leaves no residue, is nontoxic, non-carcinogenic, and breaks down in the environment into SiO2 (sand); H2O (water); CO2(carbon dioxide). It has been proven safe by over 200 independent studies and tests and decades of the public use in skin creams, deodorants, shampoos and other personal care items (it is an ingredient).
Wet cleaning uses water in precisely controlled conditions to clean "dry clean only" garments safely and effectively. The results of wet cleaning or dry cleaning with GreenEarth are garments that are not faded or worn looking like ordinary dry cleaning leaves them. There are no offensive odors and no scratchy, stiff feeling to fabrics.
Packaging is done with biodegradable poly, plastic that breaks down into compostable materials - substances usable by nature in the ecosystem - in two years. Recycle is a rule around Greensleeves, not an exception. Materials are not only recycled whenever they can be but we use as much post-consumer material as is available.
