Wet Cleaning (Water)
Wet Cleaning: Good ole water, considered the safest of all processes.
Water is used in precisely controlled conditions allowing "dry clean only" garments to be 'washed' in this manner. The water temperature and level are maintained throughout the process to exacting specifications. The wet cleaning process employs specially formulated cleaning agents that are ph neutral or slightly alkaline, depending on their use. All cleaning agents are completely environmentally friendly. Mechanical action or agitation of the water is accurately regulated for each particular fabric, from a barely noticeable motion to a high speed reversing action to obtain the most efficient cleaning specifically engineered for each fabric and fiber.
The drying process is also carefully controlled to prevent any shrinkage. Some processes use a motionless convection system to a regulated humidity extraction drying to dry the garments without shrinkage. The automatic washer has come a long way!
It is the overall choice for health safety and environmental safety by experts in their respective fields. Some cleaners tend to shy away from this process because it takes true professional qualification and ability to achieve a proper cleaning without shrinkage or other harm to garments. Many cleaners assume the title of wet cleaner but utilize the process only for a few easy fabrics, like khakis and cotton shirts.
Wet cleaning is the true path of future cleaners. It will require formal education and training - not like today where you can learn on the job. Best of all it can yield fantastic results on nearly any garment when done correctly. Greensleeves is a fully trained Professional Wet Cleaner and is staffed by certified professionals.
